About Us

The Country House is a wedding and event venue with more than five decades of service. Owner James Esposito transformed The Country House in 1980 after taking over the facility from his parents who ran it as a restaurant beginning in 1959. Since that time, the Esposito family has extended their warmth, dedication, and unparalleled service to guests.

Located conveniently between interstates 91 and 95 in East Haven, CT, The Country House is just minutes from downtown New Haven and many points along the Connecticut shore. Our venue offers affordability and convenience with top-notch cuisine and service. We hold only one event at a time so that we can provide undivided, personal attention to our guests. Bridal consultant Olivia Quiello guides couples planning their weddings at The Country House through every step of the process.

The Country House is traditionally decorated and features a cocktail lounge accented in warm mahogany. When the New England temperatures dip outside, our two fireplaces are ablaze providing warmth and simple elegance.

Our cuisine is expertly prepared by executive chef Joe Onorato and his team. They are known for creating delicious hors d’oeuvres and entrées and are always happy to customize your menu. We offer many special options ranging from specialty coffees, such as cappuccino, espresso and lattés, to frozen drinks.
